The Report is scheduled to be discussed by member of the Wyoming Legislature. The report lays out Eleven Elements of a Comprehensive Plan for Tobacco Use Prevention. Since Wyoming legislation limits the use of the funds to interest from the Settlement, the plan must grow in the early years to its full comprehensiveness. Not everything can be funded in the first few years. The Blueprint outlines the recommended approach. In keeping with the view that this is a living document that will have to change as a result of new information, data and funds, individuals who download this proposal are strongly encouraged participate in the message board at this site to share science, ideas and possible strategies that might further the intent of legislative intent for the use of the funds. TwoSides.pdf - Two Sides of A Coin is a recent book chapter by Dr. Dennis Embry and his long-time research colleague, Dr. Daniel Flannery. Drs. Flannery and Embry are the key scientists involved in one of the Centers for Disease Control longitudinal studies of the prevention of youth violence using school-based interventions. Two Sides of A Coin is an Acrobat File that talks about the integration of prevention and intervention for youth violence prevention. It is published by American Psychiatric Press. Dr. Embry will have a new chapter also published by the American Psychological Association. Cochrane NRT.doc - Nicotine Replacement Therapy. This review is from the Cochrane group in the United Kingdom. The document is a comprehensive review of nicotine replacement therapy. The document is in Microsoft Word. This rough draft was prepared for discussion purposes on a meeting in Casper, Wyoming on January 6,2000. Comments and suggestions will be added for the final document. bestprac.pdf - This Adobe Acrobat document is the Tobacco Use Prevention Best Practices review by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It contains important summaries of key elements of a comprehensive strategy being recommended to the states. The draft was presented for discussion at a meeting in Casper, WY, December 22, 1999. The draft is being revised for final publication and release in January, 2000.
